Rowling takes a classic idea of young children heading to boarding school, and put’s it on it’s head, generally we would expect all the exciting things to happen while on holiday – but not this time. These books are pure magic and a benchmark in the genre. J.K.

Then Harry starts receiving mysterious letters and his life is changed forever. He lives with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and cousin Dudley, who are mean to him and make him sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy.
